All workers deserve to return home safe at the end of their shift. It was an honour to participate in the Hon. Raj Chouhan ‘s ceremony to mark the Day of Mourning.
Today BC Legislature, we mark the somber occasion of Day of Mourning, honouring those who have been injured, become ill, or lost their lives in the workplace. Thanking my colleagues Harry Bains, Greg Kyllo Shuswap, Sonia Furstenau, Bruce Banman, and VictoriaLabour.ca for their remarks.
The #NationalDayOfMourning is a time to honour workers who have been killed or have suffered injury or illness on the job. It is an opportunity for all of us to recommit to eliminating workplace tragedies. No work-related injury or loss of life is acceptable.
