Every single Labour MP who claims to be an LGBTQ+ ally should be out speaking against the Wes Streeting ban on puberty blockers. No excuses.

This is what level of julio-claudian we're in right now: he's exiled his son's disgraced former mistress to an administrative position in Greece.

Labour said they would end culture wars, but this is a clear continuation of them. This ruling will have devastating consequences for young trans and non binary people. It must be challenged.

I fully believe Wes Streeting cares about the issue of trans people. The problem is I can only believe, based on all the evidence, that he cares about it as a problem to vanish, not a group of people deserving rights, equality, and healthcare.

Would have been really nice if they'd not had to do this... again. But Wes Streeting is utterly determined to undermine trans healthcare and attack and destroy trans kids.

This is just bigotry driving medical policy. It is unnecessary, barbaric and shows the fucking fascists that they're winning. It won't stop with trans people. For a gay man not to get this shows how much higher he regards his personal political power over anything else.

Wes Streeting refused to show his face at his offices this morning, and refused to face the community he is doing his best (and failing) to destroy. He saw us standing in community in our grief and he treated it as a threat, as the government and media continually do.

Labour’s manifesto promised to “remove indignities for trans people”, yet the government’s ban on puberty blockers adopts the Tories’ politicised unevidenced approach. Young people — cis & trans — must have access to healthcare they need. I stand firmly with the trans community.

This is just a tired re-working of old school class reductionism, with a lil anti-woke flare. The working class - in all its diversity and complexity - has always been at the forefront of struggles for freedom - freedom in its most expansive sense.

Class is not lived simply or exclusively through economics, but is mediated and reproduced by race, gender, disability etc. There might be a *conceptual* distinction between class and 'identitarian' categories, but there isn't a *material* one.
