The grade 4/5s really enjoyed working in collaborative groups while learning about the skeletal system. #abbyschools #sciencelearning

My class did a great job of creating their own versions of a “gibuu” (wolf in Nisga’a) with an inspiration from cedar mask carvings (yarn in place of cedar strips). #abbyschools #coastsalishart #firstnationslearning

One of the many things I love about Abbotsford Schools is the focus on the successful transition of Indigenous students. Today Nicolas Cochrane and I visited our Ten-Broeck School & John MacLure incoming 5s creating their drums and watched our Colleen and Gordie Howe Middle School Gr 8s work on their paddles.

My grade 4/5 class had a lot of fun demonstrating their learning and creating end of unit summatives for Science (Biomes) and Art (colour theory and Van Gogh). #abbyschools

ELL students in my ALA course have been learning about narrative text. Here, they are creating cohesive storylines using descriptive language and developing characters utilizing the writing process. As a teacher, I am always excited to see how their stories unfold! #AbbotsfordSD

Check out the amazing video that some of our WJ Mouat ELL students made to promote their homework club. I'm really proud of their initiative, ingenuity and creativity! #AbbySchools #BCEd #abbySD34
