"Heh. You got it. I'll see what I can do. Today's special's got sweet potato in it. Interested?"

"Y'know it's usually the dad's job to crack wise like that, right?" He grinned, moving over to the stove and beginning to plate up the rice, laying the curry down alongside it.

"Hm?" He looked over his shoulder at her whisper, not quite making the word out. As she brought up the heat he smirked. "No kidding. Unsurprisingly the iced coffee has been a big seller, but there ain't no way to make curry cold." He placed her curry before her.

"...Next coffee is on the house."

"I insist. Don't worry about it." He tilted the coffee pot in his hand and refilled her cup.

He began to process of making the coffee, shaking his head with a smile as he did so. "It /is/ Summer. 'Guess I can't stop you from staying up all night if you want to. How you manage to stay so clever on so little sleep is beyond me though."

"...Sure. Wouldn't hurt to have someone else helping out back here for a change." In reality he figured that she'd be more likely to open up if she wasn't hiding behind a book.

His brows knitted together curiously. "Whaddya mean?"

He blinked. "Hoo boy..." He pushed his glasses up on the bridge of his nose. "Sounds to me like you need to ease up on yourself. I know you're a Phantom Thief, but we all have limits. Don't set your standards for yourself so high. You're only human."

"...We could use someone like you in charge of law enforcement, Nijima. I mean...you've already helped save the world, right?" He gave a warm smile.

"Well...the kid helped me out in a lot of ways too." His tone was soft, his fondness for Ren incredibly clear. "So, a special someone, huh?"

His smile grew. "Oh yeah? Someone I know?"

He chuckled. "Whoever it is, good luck. They'd be lucky to have a girl as smart and capable as you are."

"Wish I couldn't relate. Welcome to the club."

"You want your curry or not?"

"I dunno about all of that, but I do know the secrets to the perfect cup of coffee."

"You rang?"

"Well, last time I took a lunch break was...10 years ago? So I took one. This is what I'm doing with it.", he explained, smiling at her as she climbed into the seat beside him. "Seatbelt.", he told her before turning the key and bringing the vehicle to life. "So how was school?"
