Local 79 members joined an OPSEU picket line today in support of members who work for LCBO. They’re on strike for livable wages & to protect LCBO from Doug Ford’s attempt to undermine the service through privatization.

Yesterday our team met with the City to address key issues in community recreation. Recreation workers make our communities whole- they deserve respect, living wages and safe working conditions.

There is power in unity! Today, we hosted ATU Local 113 @cupe1600 and CUPE Local 2998 at an inaugural meeting of unions representing workers who carry the weight of the City of Toronto and its agencies. There is no City of Toronto without us.

Members from CUPE Locals 2998, 79 & @local4948 came together for an inspiring 2-day Building Worker Power organizing training session. This program is about empowering fellow members to know their rights, organize effectively, and advocate for themselves and their fellow members!

City Councillor Anthony Perruzza held a great Family Fun Fair in Strathburn Park on Sunday! We were happy to sponsor the event, which featured ice creams, a bouncy castle, & arts & crafts. We love supporting our communities & seeing families come together for some fun in the sun.

It’s yet another sign of the chronic underfunding of our shelter system, where workers and clients must struggle to manage with overcrowding as buildings break down. It’s exhausting and unsafe.
