We are pleased to announce that Grizedale Arts purchase of The Farmer’s Arms is complete and we are in! Over the coming weeks, join us for volunteer days, workshops, pop-up markets and more as we return this historic institution to the heart of its community.

We are fairly certain that this door between the old stable bar and the snug is an original. Although it has 1827 carved along the top, its vernacular characteristics date it to the 16th century. We’ll be carefully cleaning and restoring it, ready to welcome customers again.

Sizergh's woodlands are carpeted with bluebells and you can spot these ones if you're headed towards the Wild Play trail. Please bear in mind that bluebells are particularly sensitive to being trampled and once their soft leaves are damaged, they struggle to grow back (1/2)

Our Area Ranger Jo spotted these early purple orchids and common dog-violets in woodland areas which were coppiced last winter. Alongside being beautiful, dog-violets are important for fritillary butterfly varieties as it’s the plant on which they choose to lay their eggs 🦋
