I have been unable to transfer this account to my new phone. I do not have the knowhow to remember emails and passwords from over 10 years ago. Therefore this will be my last post. Thank you to all my followers over the years, it has been fun, still on as Brian Ward Brian Ward

Nice to catch up with the long staying Richard’s Pipit at Ulverston. Showing well this morning in poor light. Those hind claws really stand out! cumbriabirds Cumbria Bird Club

Quiet WEBS at Longlands, still 7 tufted ducks but the little grebes have gone. There were 3 cormorants and some juvenile black headed gulls flying around cumbriabirds

Seabird surveyor training available this month. One of the routes covers part of our area and departs from just outside the county at Heysham.

Didn't expect to see a Whooper Swan on the estuary with Mute Swan flock at Canal Foot, Ulverston. Presuming a known and long-staying injured bird? Very approachable and appears to have damage to left wing

Lovely views of the green-winged teal (253) at Fell End NR yesterday, spent most of the time sleeping but after being flushed by a buzzard it spent some time showing well in front of the first hide. Bringing my Cumbria year list to 99.

Just a few of the Dunlin and Ringed Plover chased from feeding and roosting on the Duddon this afternoon. Hundreds of birds disturbed by this one dog. 🤬

A couple of random pics of the high tide roost from Askam pier.
Is there room for another Curlew on there?
Sanderling and Dunlin on the tide edge.
