Is it just me or why is the deeply undemocratic nature of our Ceann Comhairle system never commented on? The people who vote for whoever becomes the CC are essentially disenfranchised as their representative has no vote 1/2 Joe Brolly

2/2 and thus cannot represent the people who voted for them. Worse, since the CC is automatically returned at the next election, voters are again disenfranchised, since they are basically bring told that they must vote for the same person as last time.
