For most of the last 100 years the Chicago Bears’ most glaring problem was quarterback: for the last eight years, and certainly now, the bigger deficiency is at the position of head coach.

Please stop saying that we need to increase teacher salaries in order “recruit the best and brightest” as if the best and brightest are not currently teaching. We need to increase teacher salaries because those currently teaching deserve and earned it.

I’m always amused at when people stop by and ask if they can run on our track, in the middle of track practice. When I ask them if they asked the football coach if they could run on the football field I get a quizzical look.

Greatness and toughness are a matter of perspective but Shalane Flanagan ran the Chicago Marathon Sunday in a time of 2:46:39(6:24/mile), flew to Boston and just ran 2:40:34(6:08/mile) the NEXT day! That’s greatness! Oh, and shes “retired” from running. #WeDoBCWeCan
