During #BCT or #OSUT Trainees are exposed to the Modern Army Combatives Program and taught how to respond to an enemy who is rapidly closing their distance. This training allows the U.S. Army newest Soldiers to build confidence in themselves and their ability to defend themselves

At the conclusion of Basic Training, the U.S. Army's newest Soldiers move on to #AIT where they will learn their specific MOS before arriving at their first unit of assignment. On average, we graduate 120,000 Soldiers across the three components to the operational Army.

After completing their time in Reception, U.S. Army newest Trainees are shipped off to meet their Basic Training or #OSUT Drill Sergeants to begin their transformation from civilian into Soldier. Do you remember when you shipped off to Basic?

Drill Sergeants are the tip of the spear for the non-commissioned officer corps. Every day, they instill the Warrior Ethos into the next generation of U.S. Army Soldiers, members of the world's strongest and most lethal fighting force

Throughout Basic Training U.S. Army Trainees receive 11 hours of instruction on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC). The TCCC concept was established in 1996 by Special Operations Forces as an evidence-based and battlefield-proven way to reduce deaths at the point of injury.

Trainees going through Basic Training experience their first #FTX called "The Hammer" in week 3. Trainees will experience two more #FTXs during BCT which build upon one another to challenge them on their Warrior Tasks, battle Drills, and Skill Level 1 Tasks.

During the White Phase of Basic Trainees learn how to visually communicate through the use of hand-and-arm signals. Understanding how to effectively communicate when remaining concealed is a foundational skill that Trainees will build upon throughout their U.S. Army career.

The Forge is basic trainees culminating #FTX, which challenges them physically and mentally beginning with a 10-mile tactical road march. This movement reinforces to Trainees the importance of moving within a formation, physical fitness, noise, and light discipline.

Trainees completing Basic Training, #BCT, or One Station Unit Training, #OSUT, must complete the Night Infiltration Course (NIC) before graduating. The NIC builds U.S. Army Trainees' confidence and introduce them to the sights and sounds of the battlefield in a controlled manner.

In modern combat the usage of UAS has increased, making cUAS training a critical component for every Soldier. As part of the continuous transformation of Basic Training, Trainees now gain hands-on experience in identifying and responding to drone threats.
