California claims 47% of all New EV Sales YTD (Jan-Oct 2024). As the second top-selling EV state, Florida claims 11%.

NOVEMBER SALES DATA: We have the first ten states fully processed (doesn't include CA, FL, or TX). New EV/Hybrid sales (retail only) increased 8.7% since January '24. Honda CR-V Hybrid and Toyota RAV4 Hybrid outsell Tesla Model Y across these ten states.

NOVEMBER 2024 EV SALES - CALIFORNIA - New EV Sales are DOWN 8.3% compared to January (Best month: May) - Tesla New Sales are DOWN 29% compared to January (Best Month: July) - Rivian New Sales are DOWN 28% compared to January (Best Month: May)

NOVEMBER YOY EV SALES - CALIFORNIA - New EV Sales are UP 41% YOY - Tesla Sales are UP 33% YOY - Rivian Sales are DOWN 5.8% YOY (Nov '24 vs Nov '23)

Based on the data within our last two posts, new EV sales in California have trended downward throughout this year. But, looking at this time last year (Nov '23), new EV sales are still up 41%. -- California averages about 30K - 35K new EV sales each month in 2024.

In California, Tesla's strongest month of 2024 has been July, with a 3-month decline in sales after that. With October being the worst month, Tesla saw a 37% MoM (Nov vs Oct) increase with November sales.

In California, Rivian sales have remained steady for the last few months after a significant drop in sales in June and July. Rivian's best month was in May, with over 1,400 new units sold.
