Doctors are not trained to detect coercion and often miss abuse and depression. Isolated doctors making #AssistedDying decisions in secret with no monitoring of their assessment will hide errors, bias, discrimination and criminality.

There is a worrying naivety to “there will be safeguards” advocates of assisted dying. I struggle to believe anyone who thinks sick and poor people can fully trust health or care institutions with questions of life, dignity and autonomy has ever actually engaged with one.

It astounds me how impossible it has been in Canada to point out this obvious fact without being treated as a tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist.
