The best way to promote safety in the fire service is by competency which is gained through training.

What can we give today? What can we do to add value to the lives of others? What can we do to make our circle better today? - Now lets do it!

Nothing has a bigger impact on positive cultural change than the influence of a respected leader who leads by example.

Influence and Respect are the currency of leadership. We have to work at gaining this currency over a long period. Then we have to make sure that that currency is being used in the right ways and for the right reasons.

There are so many good things that can come from just being real. We can’t have the mindset that once we are leaders we can’t mess up or we can’t let people see our mistakes. We rob others of an opportunity to learn from mistakes that we’ve made before they make them theirselves.
