All our classes are playing throw & catch games this term. Here’s P4A with some great throwing & catching this afternoon!

We start every lesson by working on our fitness: our Speed, Stamina & Strength. P5P chose to run for 3 or 5 mins to develop our running stamina, then played some tug of war for our strength and then did some 20 second bursts of sprinting, skipping & 1/2 press ups. Fit kids!

P6L & P6R basketball. Great play!

P6PD started their lesson with 4 x 20 second speed and strength efforts this morning. Ready, steady Go!

Really difficult things made to look easy by some P6s this morning. Great control!

With the younger kids we play a lot of 'ish' games to get ready for the real thing. Benchball is 'Basketballish'. Here the P3s are learning to shoot, find space, block passes, communicate when passing, learning about the importance of rebounds, catch the ball, and have fun!

It can be easy to misunderstand exactly how play works. To do it well it's actually a skill that must be taught. So today our P5 play experts came into the gym hall to help teach the P1s to expand their play horizons. Wonderful things ensued...

Venn diagram PE: somewhere in the space between basketball and dance lies P6s PE this week … don’t really know what it is but P6 were all amazing!

Yesterday we started a movement (dance) block with P3. At the start it doesn't have to be complicated choreography, give them a toy, simple instructions and a basic understanding of song structure and see what they can create!
