Leaving aside obvious point that non-universal systems tend to have less support & are more vulnerable to being weakened (as with a return of vacancy decontrol), what’s your proposed household-income cut-off, Andrew Cuomo? In practice, sounds like a war on the middle class.

.Andrew Cuomo has a long and fraught history on rent regulation. I wrote this one for remappingdebate.org back in 2011: remappingdebate.org/article/gov-cu…

To paraphrase Brigid Bergin’s post of David Brand’s new piece on Empire State Development’s fecklessness, What’s the point of agreements with carrots & sticks if, when it’s time to bring out the sticks, the stick holder says, “No! That’s way too scary!” gothamist.com/news/why-did-n…

PLEASE CIRCULATE WIDELY. This is a longstanding issue of enormous importance in NYC where co-op board secrecy lets discrimination thrive. (There are 300K+ co-op units here.) Debra Kamin of the The New York Times has put out a call for people to tell their stories: nytimes.com/2025/08/19/rea…

I don't get it. Video is a very good presentation of Eric Adams's case (except for too much 3/4 shot). But why spoil it w: (1) "mistakes were made" locution instead of "I made mistakes" (especially w strong "I hear it; I got it" that follows); and (2) claim of fake polls?

A lot of pols should take a lesson from this Council Member Crystal Hudson & colleagues statement: direct, clear, unequivocal, preemptive.

Now that it’s public, NYC Housing gets to treat IL-M’s rage as a badge of honor — like being on Nixon’s enemies list.
