Continuing a tradition established by one of my great grandmothers of eating pork on New Year’s day. She immigrated from Hungary in the 1910s. It is a way to look forward to the new year since a pig pushes the dirt forward. Cows, chickens, etc. all scratch backwards. Happy 2019!

Obligatory post about the first lawn mowing of the year. It’s technically still #winter but with the #flowers sure look like #spring in these here parts. Killed the first #mosquito too. Wait! It’s more monumental than that; fist lawn mowing and dead mosquito of the #decade!
