To celebrate International Women’s Day we organised for these Maasai women to go on a full day game drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. For all of them, it was the first time visiting and learning about the wildlife they live so close to. #communityconservation

Check out the man that is walking from Cape Town to Kilimanjaro to give African children a chance to see the world outside of their village and connect to their wildlife heritage in a way they never have before. #cape2kili connectedplanetfoundation.com/cape2kili

Hey Gary Lineker we love that you are a voice for those who need it most. We would love if you could give a retweet for our ambassador Joseph, who is about to set off on a 6,000km walk, raising funds that will give African children opportunities to connect with our planet🌍

Hey Paula Kahumbu We have Conservation clubs set up at Schools in the Mara region. Soon Semadep School will visit the Sheldrick centre and we would love for them to see the work that you do while they are in Nairobi. Is this something we can arrange?

The Elephant Queen team visited our conservation club at Semadep School, Mara region, Kenya, to teach the children all about elephants and the importance of protecting them. This is vital in an area where human-elephant conflict is high. #communityconservation

With a heavy heart we have to report that Joseph has been robbed at knife point of his phone just outside of Cape Town. If there is anyone in Cape Town who can help us out that would be great. #CapeTown #cape2kili

Love this beautiful art work by children at our Conservation Club in Kenya, after seeing the Elephant Queen documentary and talks. Learning the importance of protecting elephants is vital in an area where human-elephant conflict is on the rise. #communityconservation

The joy of seeing and learning about the wonders of elephants in their natural habitat. This was a trip for the pupils at Sekenani School, into the Maasai Mara Reserve, Kenya. Despite living in close proximity, none of the pupils had been in before. #communityconservation

Project Tanzania has gotten off to a great start as we have taken a group of local maasai women on their first game drive into the wonders of the Ngorongoro Crater. Human-elephant conflict is a real issue in the area, so these trips are designed to educate and change mindsets.

We recently completed a Backpack trail through Kruger National Park with 3 members from the local community. It was the first time anyone from the community had been able to go on the hike, a sad reality of the disconnect between communities and the park. We aim to change this.
