This is damning. By removing prov mask mandates last yr, Alberta set up an internal experiment between schools boards. The province's own analyses found:

'School boards without mask mandates have 3 times more outbreaks in their schools, on average.'

A new study (pre-print) using Canadian school data (COVID Schools Canada) shows how COVID transmission occurred in schools. These data can be used to simulate how school interventions or more transmissible variants affect school transmission (e.g., number of cases in a school).
