On this date in 1939, DC’s own Marvin Gaye was born at Freedmen’s/Howard U. Hospital. He lived in the Fairfax Apartments in SW & the East Capitol Dwellings. He attended school at Syphax, Randall, Spingarn, & Cardozo High. His musical legacy in DC & the US will not be forgotten!
