I have to repost this today because the msg is so important and is not being heard. UQ News and others implement procedures with no evidence that they protect patients or aid the research endeavour of the university - and no one is listening

Its interesting that the clinical trials "one stop shop" is being widely celebrated by health research bureaucrats but not by researchers themselves.... health.gov.au/ministers/the-…

Pharma giants are flush with cash, and they are eager to put this money to use. As many lucrative patents approach expiration and new cures become harder to find, they are outsourcing much of the innovating to the biotech sector econ.st/44E0JwZ 👇

Back in Ukraine again. Just visited the amazing Superheroes Rehab Centre in Lviv.So many wounded soldiers but fantastic facilities. Alas there is so much need for them. Please don’t forget Ukraine!

I remember it very well. I was a medical student at Bradford Rd Surgery Trowbridge with the wonderful Dr Steve Rowlands. We had spent half the morning sourcing a TV to set up for the practice meeting. I learnt so much from the late Dr Rowlands and I shared this moment with him

Should be reframed as "who is the fitter player". That really mattered in finals. Luka's conditioning was good enough for the regular season, but not finals

Fault definitely lies on both sides. Universities have been guilty of "holding hands" while not really investing. When health orgs and universities share an ambition it's incredible what can be achieved. And it delivers benefits for both sectors and for people

I used to think this about medical research but now I know better spreadsheets for university "enterprise risk assessment", designed by the research office, are my calling 😂
