It takes humility to consider information that contradicts your opinions. You're willing to concede that you might be wrong. It takes curiosity to actively seek evidence that challenges your views. You're eager to find out if you might be wrong.

In a world that is less about hierarchy & more about collective sharing, communities of practice are playing an increasingly important role. As leaders of change, we need to be able to convene, lead, collaborate & get results through CoP's: op.europa.eu/webpub/jrc/com… TY EngagedOrgs

Pleased 2 reach out w/ our European Commission EU_ScienceHub #communitiesofpractice methodology & practices to ILEAnet, #EUResearch initiative where communities of researchers& practitioners on law enforcement were key! How can they become sustainable after #EU funding?

ILEAnet⁩ final hybrid workshop ( what an amazing experience!, thank U) confirms our own practice documented in op.europa.eu/webpub/jrc/com… that the online is not the panacea for engaged #communitiesofpractice - a mix of F2F, phone calls & online support is needed!

“Coming together is really the new way of working” / “#communitiesofpractice are the seedbed from which we grow excellence” in our practice - cannot help quoting Rut Erdelyi and Jon Hall ILEAnet final workshop after years of research & practice

It's great to have some face to face & hybrid workshops & learning sessions again. But we must do them in a different way. We should light candles: create opportunities for people to discuss, share & learn together, not fill buckets: talk at people for hours. Tx Beth Tener

You don't need people in the office every day. The evidence is clear: hybrid work boosts productivity, creativity, well-being, & retention. Great collaborations don't involve constant contact. They alternate between deep work and bursts of interaction. tedtalks.social/WLAdam

New research:"belonging" is the force that has the most impact on change being successfully delivered. Many people affected by change feel a sense of "un-belonging". Stewarding through this is a key element of successfully leading change: hbr.org/2022/08/how-to… V @deborahrowland

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" sends the wrong message about work. We should teach kids that who you are is more than what job you do. Work is an activity—it doesn't have to define your identity. A healthy sense of self is rooted in character, not career choice.

Change is changing & our methods need to change too. In health & care, Gantt charts are the dominant method for managing projects. Yet in other sectors, there's a big shift away from them. As change gets more complex, project timelines get shorter & more changes & pivots are

Increasingly as leaders of change we work with & through community. We can define this as groups of people with shared interests, held together by a sense of connection & mutual support. Leaders in this area talk about "community weaving" rather than "community building" as you
