ESPN didn’t start showing every game in the women’s ncaa tournament until 4 years ago. Before last year, the women’s final was last aired on ABC in 1995.

This is why we’ve been saying this change/increase in ratings/fans/coverage would/should have happened much sooner.

A year and a half ago, I visited Tara VanDerveer at her cabin in Northern Minnesota.

In 2015, she thought she might retire. But that cabin and that lake kept her in coaching almost another decade.
