Every time someone says that 'making it harder to drive will need radical changes' show them this. Creating current car dependency was only possible with a massive, decade-long and destructive effort to erase the city as we knew it. (via instagram.com/tv/CWbOT1PN1Lg/)

I can't possibly listen to my own voice, but maybe you can. Hopefully, I said some useful things about our latest report on waste management with Elizabeth Balkan and Reloop. It was fun to record this.

Green roofs and green infrastructure help cities save money, improve public health, and offer savings for building owners. Shout out to my colleague Anna for her work on this with Omni Ecosystems, and FYI @smartsurfaces_c

Brent Toderian That's triple the battery-weight of a Nissan Leaf. You could build 3 Nissan Leafs with the batteries you put into one EV hummer, which means 2 commuters will keep on using a gas-burner. EV growth is constricted by battery supply. The EV Hummer is basically hoarding.

Funding available to cities through the American Rescue Plan is very flexible so National League of Cities created a guide to help members create #ClimateAction projects in low-carbon mobility, energy, water, or parks and green space. nlc.org/resource/arpa-…

Instead, Uber created a lost decade for transit activism, in which the jingling car-keys of subsidized rideshare distracted us from the fight to provide transit equity to our whole cities. 61/

For me, being there seems more normal and comfortable. Much wilder is when I come back home from the airport through one neighborhood after another with maybe a dozen people on the streets. I don't really notice until then that even a city like DC feels so much emptier

Riding a train today and you know what that means? Watching another passenger nearly hit by their own tumbling luggage while struggling to board Amtrak at Union Station DC . How are these low platforms still real?

This chump can't even crop the picture to make his junk plausible. It says +.49C global temp compared to 1979-2000 average right there! Never mind that this 20 yr average was at least +.5C compared to the 100 years before 1979.
