#OTD in 1775, Boston merchant Joshua Green took notes on sermons by John Ballantine, the minister in Westfield, MA. Green noted that the morning sermon was on Genesis 3:19, “for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return," and the afternoon on 1 John 4:8, "for God is love."
