Sunday language ideologies seminar: Who has an accent? Everyone. What’s correct? Depends on who’s in power. What’s accessible public writing? There are many accessibilities, publics, & literacies. Who’s allowed to say that? Study context, hierarchy, & authority.

Just curious: Teachers, please RT this if you teach your students about things and topics that are NOT in the curriculum or the textbook you use because you know it’s very important that they learn it.

Memorization is not in the top ten skills needed today. Yes, we need knowledge, but we also need to consider that we have instant access to so much information. If school is about preparing students for the future, we need to shift our focus.
