We actually took inspiration from California Surf and LA Aztecs of old and tried to weave their identities into this in a subtle way. We had originally considered a full Surf/Aztecs brand update, but it was decided to go in a different direction.

A quick process from 0 to 90— made infinitely easier by Subscribe to GrantWahl.com himself. We workshopped names, visual directions and more before honing in on an "analog meets contemporary" vision that used loud (but soccer-adjacent) colors to cut through the noise on small screens.
