Wow. Electoral Commission warned British government privately that the introduction of voter ID is neither “secure” nor “workable”. The government pushed on with Elections Act regardless. Vital openDemocracy scoop (on Channel 4 News right now too) opendemocracy.net/en/election-wa…

Truss & her budget sent our mortgages soaring… Johnson & his Brexit sent our grocery bills soaring Tory cuts & austerity have left our NHS on its knees and our access to care at risk When are we going to see the Conservatives for what they are? A absolute menace to society.

Obscene waste. £3 million of your money is being shipped to China every month to meet eye-watering storage costs for the useless PPE you’d already stumped up billions for. It’s adding insult to injury. Britain is sick of being ripped off by the Tories. #PPEscandal | The Times and The Sunday Times

He's wrong. One can make a case the political process to try and acquire Single Market membership would be so long, so contentious, and so all-consuming under current circumstances that it's not worth trying right now... but that wasn't the question.

"And dread is all Braverman creates. The dread that leads to far-right terrorism and Tory fury. The dread that overcomes all of us when we realise that 12-years of Conservative rule, have left us with a country where nothing works".

How many times before have we read judge's comments like this? The implied, 'It could happen to anyone' tone is a direct product of, and contributor to, the fact the road deaths are utterly normalised.

Sadly, the prevailing ethos of UK trade policy is denial. Still mixed with bravado. And that's across the political spectrum. A far cry from the sustained graft that's going to be needed to maintain UK competitiveness compared to others.

Really a bit weird that the BBC News (UK) main (and shortened) bulletin essentially becomes part of the football coverage. I am a football fanatic so heaven knows how non football fans feel.

This is a grotesque & revolting statement from PM. There’s nothing “fair” about Rishi Sunak & Suella Braverman’s utter failure to set up safe & legal routes. Let’s be clear - it’s not refugees who are responsible for migration chaos, it’s 12 years of Tory Government

Sure but if you're in Texas selling to Vermont you don't need this paperwork. That was Margaret Thatcher's European Single Market which we have destroyed for our SME trading firms. About 70% have given up as hassle of Johnson-Sunak Red Tape too much. It's OK. We'll just get poorer
