9 years now, and Google still haven't fixed that "Auld Lang Syne" is mis-attributed to Rod Stewart. Follow the thread for many years of examples.

Lex’s interview with Zelensky goes exactly as you would anticipate if you’re familiar with Lex. Here’s some ‘highlights’: 1. Lex praises Joe Rogan and his comedy club. 2. Lex praises Elon & his commitment to fight corruption. He also asks Zelensky what he admires most about Elon.

Amazon has one of the great cultures around principal engineering. PEs talk to each other all the time through global communication channels and work across company-wide priorities without having to think about their reporting chain.

You can mechanize focus with secrecy. Make a project top secret, track who is read in, etc. Secrecy has downsides but people will be more focused and less randomized. This is the true reason for secrecy at Apple IMO. Preventing leaks is unimportant in comparison.

From restaurants handling the lunch rush to cloud systems balancing millions of requests, load management is crucial. Michael Haken's latest Builders' Library article shows how the principles never change: detect early, adapt quickly, degrade gracefully. aws.amazon.com/builders-libra…

"half would be enough!" - from a customer last week after our briefings on how AWS Security works, how many controls we have. That's a good summary of how far we go. Our new AWS Trust Center provides the detail and insights into how we secure the cloud. aws.amazon.com/blogs/security…

We have a very talented team at the AWS Center for Quantum Computing that’s been working on some of the particularly difficult aspects of bringing quantum computing to the point where we can use it in production, real-world applications. And we just announced a big milestone

Should Signal have a zero knowledge protocol to determine if all of the members of a group chat are known to all of the participants? At least at the "contacts" level. Should there be a multi-party threshold scheme for adding participants?

I remember being 11 and all I had to learn on was my brother's (terrible) nylon string guitar. It broke my heart to see Garth Brooks intentionally break two Takamine guitars on stage. Just an awful sense of waste and loss.

When we say "no non-EU dependencies" we mean it. AWS is lighting up a new root Certificate Authority fully based in the EU. Private keys, secure facilities, operators, management, issuances, revocations, the metadata handling ... all based only in the EU. aws.amazon.com/blogs/security…
