Fellowships really have to stop rejecting people, providing no feedback, then asking them to review other people's applications. The fact I have another job aside how is someone you rejected with no feedback meant to be able to judge a good application.

I'm begging granting bodies to stop this.

Student A has 3yr funded #phd and submits 3 chapters, student B has 4yr funded PhD and submits 4 chapters. Do you look favourably on student B? Don't say "its complicated" without a reply plz!

OK so why do we expect 3yr funded #PhD students to work for free after they stop getting paid??! How can we change this broken system? Any ideas??
