Since I started as Editor-in-Chief American Naturalist >1 year ago, I learned a lot about the journal - things I didn’t know & common misconceptions I learned about when talking to colleagues. So, I figured I’d share what I know & keep learning. To keep it all in one place, let's make a🧵

It is often assumed that correlations btwn metabolic rate and behaviour can cause indirect selection. By examining numerous behaviours, our paper by Amélie Crespel shows when this 'phenotypic gambit' is incorrect & why genetic correlations are needed: royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/full/10.10…

A couple weeks ago I saw a post about a new paper on adaptive radiation in .... protists? Something about how key innovations let them radiate? Would love to include this in my intro eco/evo course on speciation events but cannot find it again for the life of me. HELP?!

Absolutely commendable work here! And I couldn't agree more with his take-home message:
'1 - Document and upload ALL of your code. A lot of journals require this to publish, but be sure anyone can take your data from start to finish without filling in any gaps.'
