It is often assumed that correlations btwn metabolic rate and behaviour can cause indirect selection. By examining numerous behaviours, our paper by Amélie Crespel shows when this 'phenotypic gambit' is incorrect & why genetic correlations are needed: royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/full/10.10…
