This would be a cool JAX transform! I feel like after so many years in log space, I'd have trouble reading all those products, though!

✨ #ICML2024 accepted! CARTE: Pretraining and Transfer for Tabular Learning arxiv.org/abs/2402.16785 Why this is a jump forward for tabular deep learning 🤯, a stepping stone for tabular foundation models 🎉, and a study with much teaching on learning on real tables 👇 1/13

I'll be there! Speaking about bayeux and doing Bayesian inference in JAX. Also exploring Burlington for what is surprisingly the first time.

This plum-headed parakeet is here to tell you that the third edition of Think Python is shipping now. greenteapress.com/wp/think-pytho… What's new? Jupyter notebooks, LLMs, more exercises, more testing, regular expressions, and turtles!

Some personal news: I'm looking for a job! tomaugspurger.net/posts/leaving-… Some of my (very talented) former teammates are also looking for a job, so reach out if you're hiring!

I don't know any PPLs that provide easy support for quadrature. Seems useful to have an option to switch from MCMC in, say, 5 or fewer dimensions.

Excited that our paper "Scalable spatiotemporal prediction with Bayesian neural fields" (led by Feras Saad) was just published: nature.com/articles/s4146… There is also a python library at github.com/google/bayesnf - give it a try if you've got some spatiotemporal problems!

Imagine being able to accurately forecast air quality & climate changes. Our Bayesian Neural Fields (BayesNF) AI model melds pattern-recognition from deep learning w/ statistical rigor from Bayesian methods — a crucial step in making this a reality. More: nature.com/articles/s4146…

Dear colleagues, I'm in the last year of my postdoc at Flatiron Institute and I'm looking for research and faculty positions in statistics, data science, and machine learning (for the summer/fall of '25). DM me if you know of places which would be a good fit!

The incredible Thomas Garrity, whose book "all the math you missed" remains a favorite. Looks like this video is on YouTube, titled "on mathematical maturity".
