Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in the US! On June 19th, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Texas and announced that the Civil War had ended and all enslaved people were free. The holiday reminds us of the progress we've made and inspires us to keep fighting for equality.

Happy Independence Day! On this day in 1776, the Second Continental Congress officially ratified the Declaration of Independence, making the 13 colonies an independent nation! We'll be closed today to enjoy the celebrations, but don't worry! We'll be back tomorrow!

Every day, thrift stores receive donations of items with racial imagery. Come visit the CoLab (OCB 100) between June 3rd and July 28th to see examples of these items to better understand our history thanks to a travelling exhibit from the Kauffman Museum at Bethel College.
