This evening 3 Aurora Police Dept Officers responded to a house fire call. They had info to believe someone was inside. Ofcs selflessly entered & quickly rescued an elderly man. Thank U to Aurora Fire Rescue for treating minor injuries of my Ofcs & quickly extinguishing the fire. Proud Chief!

ANOTHER MASS SHOOTING...this time in VirginiaBeach. 11 DEAD. I am at a loss for words. I can only hope we don’t allow ourselves to become numb to this chaos. Completely unfair to subject what is sadly becoming a norm upon our children and our children’s children.

Heartbreaking update. K9 Draco passed away at 7pm today, surrounded by his handler/family and fellow officers. He was a true part of the APD Family. Draco, thank you for serving Aurora and protecting your “person” so well. Rest well my friend, we’ll take it from here. Aurora Police Dept

On behalf of the Brothers & Sisters of Aurora Police Dept, hearts are broken at the loss of Trooper William Moden of Colorado State Patrol. 2nd CSP trooper killed in 3 months. 5th trooper killed in 4 years. ALL killed by other drivers. ALL PREVENTABLE!! I was at hospital. Trooper’s family shattered.

What I saw tonite by many of U who protested in residential cmty w/children was vile&disgusting. Aurora Police Dept protects free speech, but your message was completely lost. U were out of your league. My cops were simply AMAZING despite your attempts to bait them into a confrontation!
