Contact a City representative or the 2018 Candidates and tell them you want action regarding Players Paradise selling out and a Grow Op coming in, leaving community soccer kids on the street. The link below has a contact guide buff.ly/2NkBLKl #HamOnt #HamiltonVotes18

Shop Carefully this election .... Who will help the soccer community get its own indoor facility replacement vs who will be helping/profiting with the POT industry? buff.ly/2NlD0cg #youthsoccer #kidssoccer #HamOnt #HamiltonVotes18

In case you missed it ... Mayor invests in Cannabis, now a private company in his City that was facilitating indoor turf field rentals closes abruptly to sell to a Grow Op company for conversion to Cannabis production leaving kids on the street. #youthsoccer #kidssoccer #HamOnt

Question City of Hamilton Why would you invest $1M in a Ancaster dome over other club offers to open a facility when the project would be closed on Sundays constituting over 15% of the revenue potential weekly? Did anyone realize it would be closed on Sunday? #HamOnt #youthsoccer

Should the City of Hamilton be partly responsible for the fallout due to an abrupt Sale to POT growers of the largest local indoor soccer facility, rendering many community clubs and academies with fall & winter programming in shambles? #HamOnt #youthsoccer #kidssoccer #Hamilton

OK .. lets pause and enjoy this remembering this is what we want to inspire and support not Cannabis profiteering. #youthsoccer #HamOnt

Well Said Raffy Morcone #HamOnt What do you think City? #YHMvote @CityMattersTV In case you didn't know a local soccer facility will close abruptly to facilitate Cannabis growing. Pot in, Kids out on the street. City of Hamilton ignored warnings from clubs re: facility shortages.

That's not weed is it? #HamOnt #youthsoccer. Well community sports facilities aren't growing as well. Hey Grow Operator's coming into the Players Paradise facility, maybe there are some new hires to be had? Wow City wages might have competition with lucrative POT grow operators.

Folks ... read this old story. City justifies supporting a 6/7 day/wk dome and then suggests 50% prime time access. bunk! Its controlled by one club. The article confirms clubs have been crying for another facility & sloppy governing! #youthsoccer #HamOnt hamiltonnews.com/news-story/540…

You will hear other private operators of facilities say they have capacity. Sure... if you want off peak, fragmented hours and force membership or customers to drive to another end of the city. Also, most of the other operators offer fields that are much smaller #youthsoccer

Key Points 1. City of Hamilton basically affected a moratorium on indoor turf rental facilities 2. They allowed most all ownership to be private and dismissed requests for community projects that even included self-funded ventures 3. Now Players Paradise closes leaving a huge void

An older article but example of greedy private business bullying the city while protecting their business. We agree with a cautious approach, but the Mayor is wrong saying no other groups have expressed interest. Adam Archer was bang on with his advise. buff.ly/2BOk58C

Historical evidence substantiating how local privately owned turf facility operators manipulated the city and school boards to protect their interests and now leave the community literally high and dry cannot be ignored. buff.ly/2wmbKUG

Haha Brad... Free time! They are forcing clubs to overextended themselves instead by forcing contracts that include awkward hours for youth and longer duration than needed. Extortion really. #HamOnt Hamilton Spectator

Medical cannabis set to be growing at former Players Paradise by April...Now we learn the deal may stink beyond putting soccer players on the street. thespec.com/news-story/910…

Looks like our wonderful city is going to ignore local sports organizations again. Hearing a private bid in consideration for a new sports facility. Stay tuned I suppose... Didn't they learn their lesson last time?
