We’re calling on elected officials to save essential NYC Public Schools services currently funded by temporary COVID-19 $$ that run out in June ‘24. This includes #NYCCommunitySchools. The risk to these services are on top of the $600M in cuts to education from Mayor Eric Adams’s recent plan.

Education for young people at all levels is one of the best investments we can make for the success of families and the future of our state, but our schools are facing the expiration of significant federal stimulus funds. We must increase our commitment to these vital programs.

I had a great time meeting with the Coalition for Community Schools Excellence yesterday. I believe that community schools are integral to learning—and they're a true embodiment of fostering safety and wellness, providing supports to teachers, and empowering parents.

The significance of the restoration and baselining of this $14M in the Exec Budget is a testament to three years of tireless advocacy by parents, students, & our community school providers.
