A huge obstacle to success is a fear of appearing foolish. When we learn to walk, we fall repeatedly until we can do it. We look foolish until the minute we don’t. That is how we learn. So much advantage in life comes from being willing to look foolish in the short term.

What appears to be luck is often preparation and patience. Mastering your circumstances starts with being advantageously positioned.

One big mistake people repeatedly make is focusing on proving themselves right instead of focusing on achieving the best outcome. These people care more about getting credit than creating great work. Give up the desire for credit. Focus on creating the best outcome.

Imagine how much further you’d be if you did things even when you didn’t feel like doing them. People think there’s some complex formula to winning - when the most basic one is: do what you said you were gonna do before it became inconvenient.

In order to apply most of your energy in one direction, you have to say no to things that a lot of other people say yes to. Most successful people are masters at eliminating the unnecessary from their lives.

Say it louder to the people in the back. Nothing wrong with freestyle but this I folkstyle and it's different for a reason.

And often times, giving yourself a shot doesn't look like what you think it does. Giving yourself a shot means grinding with little visible return over a longer period of time than you think. Find the tiniest wins and let those little moments drive you forward.

I am proud of the way our guys competed last night. We gave up 24pts in FF and had 4 "backups" in the lineup vs the #7 ranked team. Every guy wrestled to their ability. Two of those backups earned pins. We lost the dual by 23 points, but the level of wrestling was fun to watch.

Training our minds like we train our bodies so that when the pressure hits, it feels familiar. Mental reps win matches before they start.

“The hardest thing to teach a student—and the hardest thing to believe consistently—is that there is nothing ‘out there’ to go and get. There is no part, no career, no opportunity for which you should be searching and scrounging and coveting. All of the preparation is within, and
