Brockton Fire has recently been conducting LUCAS training to further medical intervention skills. LUCAS stands for Lund University Cardiopulmonary Assist System, which is provides consistent compressions at a fixed rate for a patient in cardiac arrest.

Today, Canton's FTP responded to Brockton FD and Brewster Ambulance. A patient suffered a traumatic arm injury. A tourniquet was applied, 2 units of blood transfused, and surgical intervention saved not only the limb but saved the patients life!! Great interagency work!!
