At home and there's always plenty going on. Here one of several juvenile Blue Tits gaining confidence while we're close by and a Leaf-cutter Bee who took all afternoon filling just this one hole. Sussex Wildlife Trust π¦ BBC Springwatch

Warnham Butterfly Fields, Purple Hairstreaks everywhere, Six-spot Burnet and a female Purple Emperor laying eggs, flitting from one patch to the next but always too high for me to check on. Sussex Butterfly Conservation

Hummingbird Hawkmoth whizzing around our West Sussex garden this afternoon. Sussex Wildlife Trust π¦ Sussex Butterfly Conservation British Moths #hawkmoths

Do I, Don't I? in the end went for the Collared Pratincole at Aldeburgh, 6 hour round trip but mighty pleased I did, been on my list of 'not-a-chance' for years! many thanks to all those who helped. BTO Suffolk Suffolk Bird Group #pratincole

What a great place Aldeburgh is for birds! Curlew, Meadow Pipits, Godwits and dinky Lapwing chicks to name a few seen during my brief visit. So many friendly birders there too, must come back with more time. BTO Suffolk Suffolk Bird Group #alderburgh

Warnham LNR and once again there's plenty going on. Common Terns still squawking about, Coots are growing up and two families of Little Grebes are constantly being fed near the hides. Warnham Local Nature Reserve Warnham LNR Friend Sussex Ornithology Sussex Birding

One of our favourite walks, a circular around Leith Hill. Came across a family of Blackcaps, didn't have the big lens but here's a juvenile. SurreyBirdClubNews

Linnet striking the pose at Woolbedding viewpoint this morning. Cracking little bird! Sussex Birding Sussex Ornithology Sussex Wildlife Trust π¦

Best I could get of a Honey Buzzard drifting close-ish towards the viewpoint at Woolbedding this morning. Thanks to a birder from Devon who located and tracked it along with 2 that remained distant. Sussex Birding Sussex Ornithology Sussex Wildlife Trust π¦

Looking good last night in the evening sky. Just as close-by Mars became visible, the clouds covered the Moon. Typical! BBC Sky at Night Magazine #Moon

Rewarding afternoon at RSPB Pulborough today. Female Brown Hairstreak by Adders Alley, Jersey Tiger Moth by Fattengate, Ruddy Darter and Willow Emerald Damselfly at the Summer Meadow Walk. A skipping Weasel watched but not photographed too. RSPB Pulborough Brooks

Red Bartsia Bee (Melitta tricincta) found wherever there's Bartsia, which is pretty much right across Chesworth Farm. It's mainly concentrated in the South East with numbers apparently declining! Sussex Wildlife Trust π¦ Warnham Local Nature Reserve #chesworth #bartsia

I'm probably completely wrong but have spent some time online trying to ID. Think this might be a nymph Stictopleurus punctatonervosus. Handsome devil, whatever! Sussex Wildlife Trust π¦

What a beauty! Timing's not the best though, going to effect the meteor sightings quite a bit this year. BBC Sky at Night Magazine #SturgeonMoon #fullmoon

Favourite walk of ours takes us round Slaugham and Warninglid, always something to see. This time a group of Fallow Deer including two youngsters. Sussex Wildlife Trust π¦ #fallowdeer

We unintentionally pushed this male Kingfisher along part of the Wey and Arun Canal as we enjoyed a walk eastwards from Loxwood yesterday. The low water level was a bit of a shock when we first arrived. Sussex Wildlife Trust π¦ Wey & Arun Canal Trust

Briefly up at 4am (quick visit) and looked outside to a crystal-clear night sky. Had to take a couple of snaps then back to bed before getting too cold. The Moon looked great but without it the sky would have been stunning! BBC Sky at Night Magazine #nightsky
