Today was the Harvest Festival of the Costermongers in the Guildhall Yard in the City then entertained by Morris Dancers ,Drummers and the Pearly Kings and Queens, afterwards processed to St Mary le Bow Church. This is Nicola Marshall, the Pearly Queen of Welwyn Garden City.

I would like to join my colleagues in expressing huge sadness at the loss of Mandy. It came as a huge shock yesterday to hear of her death. Mandy worked tirelessly for residents, the Borough Council and we will all miss her a great deal. My thoughts are with David and her family.

Marking a very special year there will be services across the Borough on the 11th November

Early visit this morning to meet the postmen and women at the WGC sorting office. Always cheerful and, of course, a very busy time of year for them, and some of them were wearing shorts!!

Thank you to everyone who came to my Charity fundraising Wine Tasting last night at Campus West. Excellent tutorial by William who works at Fullers Brewery. A really enjoyable evening.

Wonderful launch of the new exhibition last night at Mill Green Museum. Students from the University were there to show their designs that are on display. Well done to everyone to bring this all together.

Popped in to look at the plans for Splashlands earlier on. Really impressed and loved the Pirate Ship. It will be a wonderful place for families to have a day out in our Borough!

A busy day yesterday in my role as Mayor for Welwyn Hatfield. Chinese Delagation to Campus East in the morning from Beijing and Shanghai. Then at Anson Court Care Home for musical entertainment followed by a visit to Oak View Care Home for residents 100th Birthday party.

HPFT NHS Foundation Trust have launched #StayAlive app as part of their suicide prevention campaign. Meeting at The View., WGC this afternoon with professionals from different organisations. Spread the word this app could save lives

Good turnout this morning so we were able to split up and litter pick in several different parts of Panshanger and Haldens.

Thank you to Michelle, Community Champion and the Manager from WGC M & S for the flowers and chocolates today. I had a bad fall on a wet floor, no warning sign, at the Pathenon London branch in August, fractured my nose, unfortunately Head Office were less than helpful.
