Today’s meeting with the Irish Grain Growers was both eye-opening and inspiring. Fresh from their meetings with MEPs in Brussels, they shared the reality of Ireland’s tillage sector—5,000 farmers working across about 400,000 hectares.

Good meeting with Irish Grain Growers in Brussels today - we discussed their concerns regarding the price of fertilisers in 2026, the grain imports from third countries and their expectations for the upcoming CAP - more financial support for environmental measures.

🇪🇺🇮🇪 Meetings so far in the European Parliament today include with Minister Seán Canney on transport priorities for Ireland’s EU Presidency, Irish Grain Growers on the next CAP, and Kingspan on its role in delivering the EU’s goals for sustainable housing for all.
