The grid is becoming the frontier of the energy transition: This is what happens if we underinvest and miss out on grid optimisation. Zsuzsa Pató RAP “There is congestion in other countries”, but other countries should “definitely” see the Dutch example as a warning.

Here is a copy of our most recent state of the climate report. We are on the brink of an irreversible climate disaster. This is a global emergency beyond any doubt. Much of the very fabric of life on Earth is imperiled. . . . . . doi.org/10.1093/biosci…

Good climate news this week 1 India reaches Paris target of 50% non-fossil fuel power capacity 5 years early 2 China cuts electricity emissions to record lows in 2025 3 Indonesia to go 100% renewables by 2035 instead of 2040 4 Saudi to invest $8.3b to build 15GW of solar and wind

Repeat after me. A habitable planet is more important than the profits of a few fossil fuel companies. Pass it on. #ActOnClimate #climate #renewables

Four years ago, we partnered with SailGP to restore Bermuda’s seagrass meadows—vital ecosystems and powerful blue carbon sinks. Today, we continue to build on that momentum through long-term climate partnerships that drive lasting impact. #ClimateWise #SeagrassRestoration

Electrification could now reach 75% of all energy demand, as the road-transport and heating sectors rapidly electrify 🔥🚗 These two sectors account for 50% of global energy use and are now ready to switch from fossil molecules to clean electrons. ember-energy.org/latest-insight…

No new land. No new construction. Switzerland is installing solar panels over railway tracks—using 5,000+ km of rail to generate clean energy without disrupting farmland or nature. Smart climate solutions aren’t always about building more—just smarter. #ClimateWise #CleanEnergy

In 2010, land wind was globally 23% more expensive than fossil fuels. By 2024, it was 53% cheaper at 3.4 cents/kWh. In 2010, large solar was ~4X higher cost than fossil fuel. By 2024, solar was 41% cheaper at 4.3 cents/kWh. W&S will add ~838 GW & Gas just ~45-60 GW in 2025!

The UN Ocean Conference in Nice brought hopeful signs: 50 nations have ratified the High Seas Treaty, the UK will ban bottom trawling in protected areas, and 37 countries support a pause on deep-sea mining. We're still short of 60 ratifications, but momentum is growing.
