We have an issue with the quality of our rugby pitches. It’s worse during dry seasons. Glad that the match was cancelled and player safety was not compromised. Next, the Union needs to ensure pitch standards are adhered to by all affiliated clubs.

Theory is that, players deliberately avoid tackling. Why? Because of the condition of most rugby pitches. Currently, some players avoid injuries arising from skidding on a rough surface if it’s what it will take to complete a tackle.That’s how holding-up became part of our game
