Good morning Friends. I am concerned about the treatment of one Sharon Kathambi by a BIASHARA SACCO -Githurai Branch manager. Sharon took a loan of 200,000 /- with the said branch. The security provided was the log book of the husband's motor vehicle and the shares.

Due to the prevailing hard economic times, she was unable to pay and the loan was in arrears of 53,000/-. She approached the manager and was told to clear the arrears. By Friday 1st September 2023 she had paid 27,000 / - and was remaining with the arrears of 26,000/-.

On the same day the husband who operates a taxi, had parked and went to a hotel near the roasters to take a meal. As he was taking the meal, a group of people came and tied his vehicle with a chain and was ready to pull it to the yard without his knowledge.

When he came out, he found unknown people towing his vehicle. Thinking they were thurgs, he jumped to save the vehicle. They started beating him and in the process he was injured-( he went to the hospital and Later was issued with the P3). Later on hearing They were auctioneers

representing the BIASHARA SACCO, he gave them the key and let them drive the car to the nearby yard. The following day the wife went to the SACCO and confirmed that the arrears was indeed 26000, on top of that she was told that she has to pay an AUCTIONEERS FEE of 69,000 /-.

On top of that, She was told to clear the whole amount of remaining and not the arrears only. This amount is Sh. 251,000 and now plus auctioneers fee of 69000/-. It is after this that the vehicle will be released.
