The Year 4 Bake Off has now reached the final stages, with four children going through to the Showstopper round next week. This week the children in the Technical Round had to adapt a scone recipe and I had the pleasure of tasting some delicious sweet and savoury creations.
The children have been learning about different modes of transport. In Romans the children have been creating boats from tin foil, they explored different ways to make a boat, thinking about shape, depth and design but overall thinking about which one could hold the most marbles.
On Tuesday, Year 1 enjoyed a sunny afternoon at Windsor Girls School as part of the Windsor Sports Partnership Multi Skills event. They practised their throwing, running, skipping, bowling and teamwork skills in a variety of activities.
Year 3 had a fantastic time at their Roman Workshop . Lulius Marcellinus, our legionary soldier, took them through life as a Roman landing in Britain - from authentic army training to tasting a 2000 year-old lentil stew and becoming a history detective.
Last week we held our annual Sports Day. It was lovely to see so many parents and carers attend and support their children as they took part in a number of activities as well as the running races. Congratulations to Arundel House for winning the whole school relay, and trophy!
Stuart Class performed their assembly, and they shared all the amazing things that they had learnt in their Science lessons. We were informed all about rocks, bones, forces, and plants, but most importantly we learnt what wonderful inquisitive scientists all the children are!
Mrs Redvers led a 'My Happy Mind' information session for parents. The children involved spoke so clearly about the function of the brain and how our ‘happy breathing’ can help us when we are feeling anxious. Thank you to Mrs Redvers for leading this initiative so passionately.
Year 3 held their annual boatbuilding competition to see whose boat floated for the longest time, even when there were storm warnings! Tudors were victorious and Stuarts a worthy runner up.
All the classes completed their sponsored hurdles challenge organised by the school council. The children were so enthusiastic and highly competitive in achieving as many runs as possible. A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who sponsored us as we raised the wonderful total of £1137.50
Our Year 4 pupils enjoyed an interesting visit to Winton House, where the residents were commemorating the life of Sir Nicholas Winton who worked tirelessly to help those in need. He is well known for helping hundreds of children escape Czechoslovakia before the start of WWII
Thank you to Tudor Class for their wonderful assembly on myths and legends. The children clearly explained the difference between a myth and a legend by performing, singing and sharing their art work.
During Science week each class planted 3 seed potatoes in a sack and were challenged to tend, water and grow as many as possible outside their classrooms. On Thursday they each unearthed their sacks and weighed their harvest. Winners were Celts with 1414g.
We have been awarded with the School Games Gold Mark for 2024/25! It is great to be recognised for all the high quality PE lessons, coaching and competitions that the children take part in. 🏆
What a fantastic performance of “School-O-Vision!” from our Year 4 children. The acting was brilliant, and the singing was amazing! It was a brilliant Leavers’ Performance #edgyproductions

The parents of the children in Romans and Celts came in for their lunch. The children had grown their own vegetables and prepared the lunch themselves, as well as writing menus, decorating the tables and serving the food.
What an amazing year for Arundel! They have accumulated the most house points over the year and so the House Captains were presented with the Harcourt trophy in our final Celebration Assembly
