This morning, I had the opportunity to testify before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Courts. I have a lot to say about today, but I want to start by talking about the testimony of one of the bravest women I know, Olivia Warren. 1/

Leah Litman And I want to highlight that portion of Olivia's testimony because the hearing was not about Judge Reinhardt alone, it was about the federal judiciary’s failures. This hearing means little if these systems do not change. /end

My testimony this morning focused on a few changes the judiciary (or Congress) should to make to actually encourage reporting and ensure accountability. I'd like to highlight a few things. 1/

It is worth remembering in all of this the "missing" women in law - how only about 1/4 of tenured / tenure-track law professors are women; how only about 1/4 of law partners are women. This is not just a story about how the profession could be more "family friendly."

I am honored to host leaders from Law Clerks for Accountability for an upcoming panel Columbia Law School on their important work in protecting Federal Judiciary Employees from sexual harassment, discrimination, and other workplace misconduct. We have much to learn. #CLSClerks

Deeva's work on judicial accountability is remarkable. Speaking truth to power is one thing. Mobilizing a pragmatic change effort aimed at *the* professional power structure in your field is something else entirely. Vision, persistence, and integrity in service of others. 👊
