You have to say that. You gave him a guaranteed contract, which isn’t what a 55th pick often gets. If you didn’t know his name and looked at the numbers and facts, you had to overlook a ton of things about him - along with ignoring more promising prospects - to even draft him.

Curious what this meals for the Canadian NHL rights that are surely are being bid for now behind closed doors. The Rogers rights end after 25-26 so this is the negotiating year. Bell could be back in, but perhaps Rogers will get some carveout for having bought Bell out of MLSE?
