Pulling racist films from platforms is a one-and-done. The harder/systemic approach is financing and distributing films that challenge stereotype & present fully dimensional black characters from historic time periods...like "12 Years a Slave" did. Can't wait for what comes next.

Saw Sugar Cane Alley at an Alliance Francaise headquarters in Barbados when I was growing up. It was the film that made me realize Caribbean people could make films about their lives. This acknowledgement of Euzhan Palcy as a trailblazer is welcome and overdue.
