We're really thrilled to see the result. The City Vision-led Waitematā Local Board championed the project from its inception in 2011 and on several occasions had to step in to stop it from stalling.

A year ago many Aucklanders experienced terrifying landslides and flooding. 4 people died. For some it was a life changing night, followed by huge challenges. The mahi continues for individuals, neighbourhoods, and our city h/t Cr Julie Fairey

Bernard Orsman writes a shock-horror story about discovering raised crossings in a project whose plans have been public for more than four years. Did he just not bother to look at them every other time he wrote about it? nzherald.co.nz/nz/auckland-tr…

Julie Fairey (@juliefairey) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Well I guess that makes it all ok then. /sarcasm. Ps herald appear to have not published my letter to the Ed in support of the project. Sigh.

Richard Hills (@richardhills_) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Outrageous. That story was on the Nzherald website prominently for hours. Apparently the minister even used the $500k figure in parliament. A correction so small when the price in the headline was 20-25x higher than the actual cost? These stories help spread misinformation.

City Vision (@cityvisionnz) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It's exhausting for the community who strongly support this project to constantly have to respond to nzherald's misleading & inaccurate reporting. We're extremely concerned that Bernard Orsman's personal campaign against safe pedestrian crossings is putting lives at risk

Simeon Brown may want to kill cycling in Auckland, but the latest cycle counts speak for themselves - and they are big! 299,833 cycle movements across 26 counters in January and 3.28 million cycle movements from February 2023 to January 2024. Keep pedalling Auckland!

A simple way to honour Efeso Collins today would be to read his maiden speech. He gave it last week. As he says in it, E le tu fa'amauga se tagata. Vale Fa’anānā Efeso Collins parliament.nz/en/pb/hansard-…

Why is Wayne Brown sounding increasingly twitchy and unmayoral? His proposal to privatise Port of Auckland as part of the Long Term Plan is unravelling. Feedback is due by this Thur 28 March. Here is our handy submission guide #Haveyoursay cityvision.org.nz/featured/there…

It is highly unusual for the Mayor to be spending big bucks during a Long Term Plan consultation period telling Aucklanders what he wants to hear. This is the time to listen to the feedback #HaveyouSay by this Thur 28 March cityvision.org.nz/featured/there…

"The crossing is indicative of the vibrant and tolerant community on the road and to see it covered sends the opposite message. ...most of Auckland stands with the LGBTQI+ community" Local resident, City Vision's Richard Northey
