It was a joy to host dozens of our employees’ children, including my own, for Take Your Child To Work Day! The kids spent the day at City Hall for some fun activities organized by our HR and Parks departments and watched demonstrations from Miami Beach Fire and Miami Beach Police.

Thank you to our Environment & Sustainabilty department, Miami Beach Garden and the Miami Beach Garden Club for hosting a beautiful celebration in honor of Arbor Day. Today serves as a reminder of the importance of working with our community to continue growing our city’s tree canopy.

Today I had the honor of welcoming the incredible women to Miami Beach Police’s Women in Blue Symposium for aspiring female law enforcement professionals. MBPD already has amazing ladies serving our community, and we are excited to recruit new officers and staff to join the team.

This morning we gathered in front of Miami Beach Police Headquarters to formally honor the Miami Beach police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice and lost their lives in the line of duty. We are forever grateful for their bravery.

Thrilled to be back at City Hall in our newly-renovated Commission Chambers for today’s City Commission meeting. It looks beautiful. I also want to congratulate Ricardo J. Dopico on being appointed City Attorney and thank Gloria Estefan & Emilio Estefan for swearing him in.

Senior staff members gathered this morning for our last Memorial Day weekend briefing ahead of the Hyundai Air & Sea Show. All of our departments are working tirelessly to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend for our residents and visitors.

I am filled with gratitude on this Memorial Day as we remember those who have bravely served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice. 🇺🇸 I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our hardworking city staff members for serving our Miami Beach community.
