Never thought I'd see the day when Labour came third in Manchester. A big challenge for us @mcrlibdems elsewhere in the city now to make sure we work as hard as we can to keep Reform out whilst Labour collapse. Join us mcrlibdems.uk/join

Shocked and saddened by the horrific terror attack outside Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year. My thoughts are with the victims, their families, friends and with our Jewish community in Manchester and across the country.

Liberal Democrats (@libdems) 's Twitter Profile Photo

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, and to all the Jewish community in our country. "This terrorist outrage is an attack on all of us. And we should stand in solidarity with our Jewish friends, and make it clear that violence is unacceptable."

Gone in 90 seconds πŸ’‰ Huge thanks to the brilliant team at New Islington Medical Practice for running today’s flu clinic. It might not feel urgent, but if you’re offered the flu jab, please don’t put it off β€” book your flu jab and protect yourself and others this winter.

This Remembrance Sunday, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We must never forget them β€” nor can we forget the veterans and serving personnel who continue to protect our freedom.

Great to be at the Christmas Light Switch-On at Bradford Park in Beswick this week πŸŽ„βœ¨ A truly lovely event, made all the more special with some wonderful singing from students from CE School of the Resurrection, getting us all into the festive spirit.

Myself, Alan Good, Chris Northwood and the team would like to thank St Anne’s RC Primary and CE School of the Resurrection for taking part in our annual card competition. Congrats to Shekinah and Sarai, whose designs went through thousands of doors, our runners-up and all who took part.

Someone’s knocking at your door… it’s me and your local Lib Dem team πŸ‘‹ Despite the bloomin’ brisk wind, the team and I were out again last night as usual, big coats on and knocking doors to chat about the issues that matter locally.

Narrowly dodged the worst of the rain with the team last night 🌧️ Thanks to everyone who took the time to chat with us and share what’s going on in your buildings and the wider area, it really helps us stay on top of issues, get things moving, and take action.

This is outrageous. In Ancoats, I made sure the Brit Awards artwork for Ancoats only went up on blank areas. Manchester Councillors had the opportunity to shape where the artwork goes for their own wards, why did Piccadilly Labour πŸπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ let this happen? manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-m…

10am start. Five hours. One hat. Two gloves. A slightly dramatic pinched nerve. Thousands of leaflets later… A lovely way to share the love this Valentine’s weekend πŸ’› Yesterday we were out across Beswick delivering our latest newsletter and chatting about and reporting issues.

This is appalling. Why didn’t Piccadilly’s Labour councillors stop this from happening!? Yet another example of Manchester Labour kowtowing to businesses and developers – overwriting the city’s rich history and stories, and forcing out the very people who make it what it is.

John Leech (@johnleechmcr) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It is utterly appalling that Labour councillors allowed such meaningful artwork created by those with experience of homelessness to be covered over with stuff for the BRIT awards in Manchester City centre. Beyond belief. manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-m…

Now the confetti has settled after the BRIT Awards at Co-op Live – and Manchester Labour have finished patting themselves on the back – will Piccadilly’s Labour councillors apologise?
